Social Politics was another app collaboration with Hicham Boubdallah, where we were experimenting with adding social interactions with a news aggregator. The concept is to allow users to choose their party leaning, and then share news articles on social networks. Sharing multiple items would earn the user politically themed badges, as well as bragging rights. This allowed us to experiment with integrating with social networks, as well as testing out “freemium” markets by adding iAds into the app. We released before the 2012 election and got a favorable response from users.
